ScotlandPHP Speaker Information
We're committed to bringing together the best speakers, locally and internationally, to share their knowledge with the great people of Scotland. Think you've got something to share? Submit now and we'll work with you to bring your talk to Scotland.
About the event
Speakers will be provided with a projector, a wireless lapel microphone and a screen for their presentation (size depends on the room). Speakers should bring any equipment they need to connect to projectors (VGA). It is also suggested that you reduce your dependency on the in-house internet connection as possible. We will however provide HDMI and Mini Display Port connections for all speakers on request. If you need something different or your selected talk needs audio equipment just let us know. We'll work it out.
Two of the remaining talks will be selected by our blind-bird ticket purchasers. This vote will commence after the call for papers has ended, on May. 4th, 2020.
All talks are recorded and videos will be published publically to Youtube after the event, by accepting to speak at the event you agree for your content and image to be used for these purposes as well as promotion of this and future events.
This year's package
Our speaker package for this year's event includes:
- Full conference pass
- For speakers remote to the Area:
- Complimentary airfare/travel
- 2 complimentary hotel nights
- Lunch, receptions and activities included in regular conference
- We'll arrange pick-up and drop-off from the airport so you don't have to worry about it.
In Addition to the above Workshop leaders will be given an additional nights stay in the speakers hotel to make sure they are well rested before they kick of the weekend.
If you would prefer to travel with company please let us know, we are unable to provide additional support for travel companions costs but happy to facilitate securing accomodation within the speakers hotel.
International speakers are encouraged to submit their ideas, but because of budget restrictions, we can only accept a limited number of speakers from outside the country.
Tips for Submission
We strongly encourage potential speakers to submit more than one submission on more than one topic. The more submissions you contribute, the more options you give us to pick you. Be sure your talk title and abstract define the exact topic you want to talk about and what you hope people will learn from the session. In previous years, some submissions sounded interesting but we just didn't have enough detail for them to make the final cut.
